Magic Perk Descriptions
Apprentice Tier
Chrono Resonance
Prerequisites: Spellcasting 50+ Effect: Choose morning (12am-12pm) or afternoon (12pm-12am). During that time of day, your spells deal +2 damage. In the other time of day, your spells deal -2 damage.
Divine Practitioner
Prerequisites: Religion 60+, allegiance to a chosen Deity Effect: You are recognized as a champion of your Deity, and are granted access to Divine Interventions on behalf of that Deity.
Spell Initiate
Prerequisites: Spellcasting 50+ Effect: Choose one spellcasting class. Learn 2 Novice spells from that class’s spell list. You can cast these Novice spells using your normal spellcasting ability (if you have one) or using the chosen class’s spellcasting ability if you are not a spellcaster.
Magic Eater
Prerequisites: Spellcasting 50+ Effect: When you are directly targeted by a spell (not AoE), gain HP that increases automatically based on your Class Tier. This effect triggers regardless of whether the spell hits or is beneficial/harmful.

Spell Dreamer
Prerequisites: None Effect: You occasionally dream about magical events happening elsewhere in the world. The GM provides you with cryptic but useful visions related to ongoing magical phenomena, distant spellcasters, or supernatural threats.
Synchronized Casting
Prerequisites: Spellcasting 50+ Effect: When you cast a spell in the same round that an ally also casts a spell, your spell deals additional damage that increases automatically based on your Class tier. Multi-hit spells such as Arcane Barrage gain the bonus damage on each separate hit

Journeyman Tier
Basic Metamagic
Prerequisites: Spellcasting 60+ Effect: Choose one Basic Metamagic option (Extend, Split, Still, Rebound, Surge, or Widen). You can apply it to your spells. Each time you take this perk, choose a different Basic Metamagic option.
Counterspell Expert
Prerequisites: Spellcasting 60+ Effect: You can attempt to disrupt enemy spellcasting. When an enemy within 8 hexes begins casting a spell, you may spend 2 AP and make an opposed Spellcasting check. If you succeed, their spell fails and they lose the mana cost. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to your Spellcasting Modifier.
Elemental Affinity
Prerequisites: Spellcasting 60+ Effect: Choose one damage type (Fire, Ice, Shock, Acid, Poison). When casting spells that deal your chosen damage type, gain +4 damage. Additionally, gain Resistance 2 against your chosen damage type.
Arcane Diplomat
Prerequisites: Spellcasting 60+ Effect: You can communicate basic concepts with summoned creatures, elementals, and other magical beings. You have Advantage on Influence and Knowledge skill checks when dealing with magical creatures.
Spell Backlash
Prerequisites: Spellcasting 60+ Effect: When an enemy within 6 hexes critically fails a Spellcasting check, they immediately take {Level÷2} magical damage as their spell backfires.
Spell Disruption
Prerequisites: Spellcasting 60+ Effect: Your magical aura interferes with nearby spellcasting. Enemies within 2 hexes of you suffer -5 to their Spellcasting.
Passive Arcane Sense
Prerequisites: Spellcasting 60+ Effect: Your Perception skill automatically detects magical auras within 3 hexes without requiring any action or roll. You sense the presence and general school of magic, but not specific details.
Expert Tier
War Caster
Prerequisites: Spellcasting 70+ Effect: You can cast spells while wielding weapons and shields without penalty. When you take damage while sustaining a spell, you have Advantage on the opposed roll to maintain it. Additionally, you can use spells for Reaction Attacks instead of weapon attacks.
Advanced Metamagic
Prerequisites: Basic Metamagic, Spellcasting 70+ Effect: Choose one Advanced Metamagic option. You can apply it to your spells. Each time you take this perk, choose a different Advanced Metamagic option.
Devout Practitioner
Prerequisites: Religion 80+, Divine Practitioner Effect: You gain +1 additional Favor from adhering to your Values, and only lose 5 Favor (instead of 10) when acting against your deity’s values.
Divine Specialist
Prerequisites: Religion 80+, Divine Practitioner Effect: Choose one Intervention category (Healing, Blessing, or Curse). All interventions of that type cost 1 less Favor.
